It has been a while since I last blogged!
For a number of days now, I have been feeling tired and overwhelmed. Work, Wedding preparations, visiting so and so, do this and that, shop for this and that, talk to X and Y, do this by noon among other things have been the routine. Sharing this may minister to someone who may be feeling this way will be edified.
And in the middle of the tiresome ness, voices. Voices from the enemy, to suck all the remaining strength.
It’s time to throw in the towel. Many people have done it and life moves on!
Talk about it more. Don’t be too hard on yourself. The more you speak out the more you are relieved!
Watch movies. One after another! That way you will relieve yourself of stress.
No need to wake up at 3 each day to pray. Those random prayer times are better devotion time!
So today, having heard the Lord, I share few reflections on standing firm through a heavy season.
Memorize scriptures and say them when you feel too tired
One of my most favorite chapters is Psalm 73: 23-26
Yet I am always with you, you hold me by my right hand.
You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me to Glory. Whom have in heaven besides you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Walk around reminding yourself that God is the strength of your heart.
The waiting is never easy, but God is with us even in trouble
Seasons belong to God, and He knows best what season we need at any point of our lives. And seasons mean waiting. In James 5: 7-11, we are encouraged to persevere like a farmer…and that God considers blessed those who persevere, just like Job. The Bible says blessed are those who wait on the Lord. They will renew their strength, they will run and not be weary… and the promise will be fulfilled at its time.
Remember, I am with you always, to the ends of the earth, Matt28:20 and that I will never leave you nor forsake you, Heb. 13:5
Listen to Gospel Music
I intentionally call it Gospel and not Christian. This is because it must be music from the word. That music that makes you want more of the word. Leaves you looking for your Bible to confirm the word. Music that refreshes the soul. Create a playlist even. Soak yourself in worship.
Speak less, pray more
The more you speak, the more you fail to see the place of prayer. Pray. Talk to God before anyone else about a situation. Before long, you will be sharing the situation as a testimony and not as a prayer point.
Reflections of a tired girl, whose soul longs for the Lord throughout 😇🙌
